As a backup DC power supply unit, the battery plays a very important role in the unmanned machine room. Valve-regulated sealed lead storage battery is a kind of lead storage battery. Because of its good uniformity, small self-discharge, no leakage of acid, no leakage, no frequent water maintenance, long service life, etc., it is widely used in the communication industry. Used as a backup power supply. However, if it is used improperly or lacks proper maintenance, it will often shorten its service life and be scrapped in advance. Correct use and maintenance work can extend the life of sealed lead-acid battery packs.

For newly installed batteries, after a certain period of floating charge operation, the floating charge voltage will tend to be uniform. The reason is that the float charge voltage of the battery has a great relationship with the battery acid saturation. In the initial stage of the battery, the sulfuric acid saturation is high, the gas recombination efficiency is low, and the gas evolution rate and recombination rate have not reached equilibrium, so the float charge pressure is not It is very stable, resulting in a large pressure difference of the single battery in the initial stage of use. After running for a period of time, the saturation will drop slightly and gradually tend to be in a balanced state. At this time, the battery float charge voltage will also tend to be uniform. Generally this transition time is 3-6 months. It can be seen that as long as the float charge voltage of each single battery in the same battery pack has a tendency to converge during operation, even if the float charge voltage difference of the newly installed battery is too large (the highest and the lowest exceed 100mV), the performance of the battery pack will be affected. No effect. In addition, we can also use the method of equalizing charge after discharging the battery pack to make the internal reaction of the battery voltage reach the equilibrium state as soon as possible to ensure the stability of the float charge voltage.

Sometimes after the battery has been used for a period of time, "white crystallization" can be observed at the valve port of the battery, but most people may think it is leakage. After analysis, it can be seen that during the floating charge of the battery, when the internal air pressure of the battery reaches the opening pressure of the safety valve, the safety valve cap will automatically open, allowing the gas to overflow. The gas evolution rate of the battery has a great relationship with the ambient temperature. When the summer temperature is high, the gas evolution rate of the battery will also increase. For a new battery that has just been put into use, the internal acid saturation is relatively large, and the gas will be released. At the same time, a small amount of acid will be precipitated along with the gas. The acid liquid carried out will condense into small acid droplets in the depression of the valve seat, and the small droplets will climb up the acid along the wall of the valve seat, and finally overflow from the air outlet of the cover sheet. The overflowing acid liquid contacts the air to produce white sulfate crystals, which is the phenomenon of "white crystallization" we have seen. Generally speaking, this phenomenon does not have a big impact on the performance of the battery, and mainly affects the appearance, as long as the white crystal is removed. However, if white crystallization occurs frequently, it may cause clogging of the valve body's air outlet, and even corrode the battery connection in severe cases. It is recommended to replace the safety valve or notify the manufacturer to solve it.

Battery leakage is a common phenomenon during battery use. There are three main situations: tank cover leakage, pole leakage and safety valve leakage. These are all caused by the poor manufacturing process of the battery. If the battery case ruptures due to a collision during transportation and installation, liquid leakage may also occur. It is recommended to notify the manufacturer to solve the battery leakage fault. In addition, we should pay attention to the false leakage of the valve body and the pole. The difference between the two is that the false leakage is white crystals caused by the residual acid or the trace acid brought out by the gas precipitation, and will not be liquid. Set aside, and the battery performance has no effect. We can also use pH test paper to determine whether the battery is leaking.

Generally speaking, this problem is mainly caused by the following situations: the battery connection in the battery pack is loose or corroded, resulting in poor contact, excessive contact resistance, and serious voltage loss during discharge. The ambient temperature cannot be guaranteed: When the temperature is too low, the internal reaction speed of the battery will be slow, and when the capacity drops and the temperature is too high, the gassing situation of the battery in the floating state is more serious, the battery has a certain degree of water loss, and the battery acid is saturated Decrease in power, resulting in a decrease in battery capacity in the later period of use. The power supply is not guaranteed, power outages are frequent, and charging is insufficient. After the battery is discharged, it often starts to discharge before it is fully charged in time. Under such use conditions, part of the active material of the battery will fail, and the battery capacity will decrease. There are backward batteries in the battery pack, causing the discharge voltage to drop too fast, which seriously affects the performance of the entire battery pack.
